Trash?! or Treasure?!Β

Hey you guys! I’m back with the FIRST installment of something I’m going to be working on and it’s called *insert πŸ₯ roll* TRASH?! or TREASURE?! In this series posted EVERY WEDNESDAY, I will be reviewing a series of beauty products and I’ll be giving you guys my HONEST opinion on what I think about them.

The first item we’ll start with is the Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream. I bought this at my local Walgreens, I have sensitive skin, and the moisturizer I had been using started to really dry out and irritate my skin. I purchased this when it was on sale for about $5 ( it normally retails for $6.99). It has a light scent and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It’s also packed with Vitamin E and jojoba oil. Which help your skin feel supple and fresh all day. I’ve been using this product for several months now and I say this product is: TREASURE πŸ’Ž.
Next up, Hello Pure Mint Extra Whitening Flouride Toothpaste. I discovered this product while I was browsing through the toothpaste isle at my local Walmart. This toothpaste is free from artificial sweeteners, microbeads, triclosan, gluten, saccharin, and peroxide. For years, I have struggled with finding a toothpaste that helps me keep my teeth clean without that awful burning sensation you usually get after using other toothpastes. I was really impressed with the fact that it is a Vegan friendly product! Not to mention the price wasn’t too bad either, I got mine for $3.13 (online retail price $4.99). I’ve used this for about a week now and I can see a slight change in my teeth. I’m excited to try more of the Hello brand products, I say this is: TREASURE πŸ’Ž.
The next item we have is the Broadway Colors Buttery Matte Lip Cream in the shade 09 Forever. I was drawn to this lippie because of its intense Purple color. This lip product retails for about $1 give or take. When I first applied the product on my lips in the light it seemed more burgundy than purple. This made me slightly sad but I was however, disappointed in the number of times I had to dip my wand back into the container. The positive that I got from this product was the smell. It has a light musky smell to it. I’m willing to give this product another try but for right now, I’m gonna say this product is: TRASH πŸ—‘.
This next product is one of my go-to lip glosses! Here we have the L. A. Colors High Shine Shea Butter Lip Gloss in the shade Dollface. This is a nice nude-ish gloss that goes on smooth and looks amazing on all skin tones I believe. I purchased this item from my local Dollar General for about $2. These lip glosses come in a wide range of colors and I plan to try them all someday. I really like the wand that came with the lip gloss, it makes application easy. I especially like how easy it is to do touch-ups. One thing, I don’t like about this particular gloss is that after a while I get this white crust like substance on the innermost parts of my lips which cause me to have to remove this gloss and either reapply or choose something else. I find myself reaching for this a lot in the summer months so I’m going to say this is: TREASURE πŸ’Ž.
Next up, NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the shade Kitten Heels. This is a liquid lipstick that dries to a velvety smooth Matte finish. I wore this for the first time a couple of days ago. I got this lippie as a gift but it normally retails for about $7 at my local Peeble’s clothing store. I really love the wand that comes with this one. I was blown away with how bright it was when I put it on, and even though I think it complimented my skin tone I do believe it was a bit too bright for daytime wear. I definitely wanna give this a few more tries before I give my verdict. So, this product is: πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ.
I was recommended this product as a replacement for my E.L.F. setting spray. The L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray is decent in my opinion. I bought the 1.0 fl oz and it retails for about $7.97. I felt that was kind of steep for such a small bottle but, hey πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ it happens. I was disappointed with the size of the bottle and I’m not a fan of the smell. It helps your makeup stay in place pretty well I might admit. Another drawback of this product to me is how sticky my face feels after I’ve sprayed my face to set it. I’ve used this product for a couple of months now and I’d say this product is: TRASH πŸ—‘.
The last product I want to talk about is the Neutrogena Cleansing Towelettes TwinPacks. I was very cautious trying makeup wipes again considering my first experience with wipes caused a chemical burn. I love these compared to other brands because they truly leave my face feeling like I’ve gotten all of makeup off with ONE wipe! Plus, they smell amazing! The twin pack retails for around $8.97 at my local Walmart.
Well guys, that’s all the products I have for this edition of Trash or Treasure. Be on the lookout for my next installment!!

Here’s the deal, pickles. .Β

Alrighty guys, I’m gonna level with you. I have no idea how this blogging thing works. As I lay here, staring blankly at my phone I can’t help but feel like maybe, just maybe, this isn’t my thing. Over the years I’ve tried a lot of things that weren’t “my thing”. You name it I’ve pretty much tried it; being “emo” or “scene”, being a student athlete, being involved in school activities period, or dancing.
It wasn’t that I wasn’t good at these things, it just didn’t feel like something I would do. I was honestly too happy to be a “scene” kid and let’s be honest, the wrong skin color (no shade). I was always larger than my peers, both in the chest region and overall body build, so playing sports was out of the question. If I did play sports, I felt like I had to prove a point. Being active in school activities was hard because, well, how can I be concerned about the removal of a vending machine when there are more pressing matters? I mean, come on! Don’t even get me started on dancing.

I’ve heard several times that I’d be a good radio personality or should take up acting. I’ve always wanted to be an actress but, I’ve been held back by certain limitations.

One thing I’m going to really focus on is building “my brand” I guess. Who am I? Who do I wanna be? I don’t have the answers to these questions, hell, I might never have them. But you have to start somewhere. I’m not chasing fame or anything out of trying to be a blogger. I’m just trying to find myself in this crazy game of Life.
So, sit back, buckle up and let’s get to it.

What comes next?

With college over for the summer I find myself asking this question. “What do I do now?” Well, one could suggest a summer job or two. But, I want something more out of my summer before I take on another mountain of classes. Today was the second day of summer vacation and I can’t tell you how GOOD it felt waking up knowing I wasn’t responsible for any assignments. Like none at all. No classes to attend, no observations to drag myself to and pretend to take down notes. No, I was done and I now had the whole day to myself.

So far, I’ve spent my days binge-watching shows on Netflix (currently watching, “Dear, White People”) so be on the lookout for my posts about that. I’ve also just tried to become a social being.Β I want excitement this summer, IΒ craveΒ adventure. I want to go places I never thought I’d go and experience things I didn’t know I needed to experience. I want to look back at this summer and have no regrets. Well, I’d like to do that for my whole twenties.

I took the inititative to set some goals this summer, so here is my list of goals for summer 2K17:

  1. Have fun
  2. Make money
  3. Get your license
  4. Love yourself
  5. Did I mention have fun?

This will be the summer of exploration and adventure, I’m pretty excited to see what things I can do this summer and the memories I’ll make. That’s enough sappiness for now I guess. Be on the lookout for my weekly blog posts that come out on Wednesdays!

Stay (T)uned!

Keeping up with Tune. . . .

Hey everyone! I know, I know I’m the absolute worst at being constant and uploading on a daily basis but I’m going to try really hard since I’m officially finished with college!! This past Friday, I graduated with my Associates Degree in Applied Sciences in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood. I’m one step closer to being a preschool teacher! While on this journey I’ve also been trying to find myself as an individual.

So, I did something a little out of my character. . . I bought some film equipment a few weeks ago and I’ve been recording myself almost like mini blogs. I’d like to start posting them but I’m really nervous about putting myself out in the open on the internet. I’m just afraid of being judged. But then again, I’ve always been afraid to be judged. So many things have happened in my life recently and I plan to share everything with you guys.

I want this blog to become something I’m proud of and can turn to when things get rough, I feel like this will be my safe place. That’s such a corny phrase. Well, enough of my rambling, I’ll be uploading new material (hopefully) every week on Wednesdays. So be on the look out.
